Bargrenan to St Johns Town of Dalry
| This is a long and challenging section in remote country with no facilities. You should always carry plenty of food and drink and be sure of your ability to walk such distances. The White Laggan bothy can be used to break the section into two days or vehicle support is available to take walkers to B&Bs in Dalry. | The route starts off along the bank of the River Cree and follows the river system up the Minnoch and the Trool until it reaches Loch Trool. From here the path heads up onto the hills offering some of the best views of the Southern Uplands that you will get. The path soon descends past Loch Dee and back into forestry passing the White Laggan Bothy.
