There is still time to enter our SUW cicerone guide competition. Email us your answer before 5pm today. Winners will be notified next week.
Also look out for our Harvey's map competition, which we will post next week, to celebrate the most up-to-date mapped version of the SUW
Time to get off forest roads and try our high route on your way into or out of Dumfries and Galloway east of Moffat
Route cleared over the last few days , cut, and waymarkers adjusted and built path surfaces on the trickier sections. Signs to come soon but temp signs are up just now at the Moffat end (as most walk west to east) . It should take fit walkers roughly 30mins more than the forest road and the views on a clear day are amazing
The low route along the forest road is still waymarked and can be used in poor weather, but we now recognise the high route as the official SUW
At the end of last month I walked the Southern Upland Way in 12 fantastic days, nearly all dry. I have now added this to my website if anyone would like to read about my journey, a video will follow when I have time :-)
Polskeoch bothy / chalk memorial bothy, SUW before during and after.
Still have the back to paint and the other gable end and some tidying up with paint brushes for nice straight lines . Thanks to Adam Cleminson for his volunteering today. Also guttering repaired and trees near Allan’s cairn cleared after last weeks strong winds with Adam
